The Castaway – Handcrafted Driftwood & Upcycled Bottle Lamp

The Castaway is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted table lamp created from a reclaimed Bumbu rum bottle, naturally weathered driftwood and a solid timber base.
Each piece of driftwood has been individually selected and carefully positioned to form a natural cradle around the bottle, allowing its distinctive embossed glass to remain at the heart of the design.
What appears to be rustic rope running through the piece is actually the fabric-covered electrical cable itself. Rather than permanently fixing the cable into one position, it has deliberately been left free so it can be arranged and woven around the driftwood to suit your own preference. Keep it simple and understated or create a more pronounced rope effect for an even stronger maritime feel.
The bottle is also intentionally not permanently fixed to the base. It sits securely within the individually arranged driftwood cradle, allowing its position to be subtly refined to achieve your preferred display angle. This also means the bottle can be carefully removed when required, making cleaning and ongoing maintenance much easier.
The solid timber base has been carefully prepared and finished by hand, with subtle darkened detailing highlighting the natural grain of the wood.
Finished with an antique-style lamp holder and warm vintage-inspired bulb, The Castaway produces a beautiful ambient glow that brings out the textures of the driftwood, rope-covered cable, glass and timber when illuminated.

Part of the character of The Castaway is that its final appearance isn't completely dictated by us.
The position of the bottle can be subtly adjusted and the rope-covered cable arranged around the driftwood however you prefer, allowing you to put your own finishing touch on the piece while retaining the original Made by Mason design.
