Made by Mason Board Butter is our own small-batch wood conditioner, handmade using just two simple ingredients — food-grade mineral oil and organic beeswax.

Created to nourish, protect and enhance natural wood, the mineral oil penetrates into the timber to help prevent it from drying out, while the organic beeswax leaves a smooth, protective finish that enhances the natural beauty and character of the grain.

And despite the name, Board Butter isn't just for boards.

Use it to care for chopping boards, serving boards, butcher blocks, wooden utensils and accessories, or give a little love back to wooden furniture and furnishings around the home.

From tired chopping boards to tables, shelves and other natural wood pieces, a small amount of Board Butter can help revive dry, dull-looking timber and leave it feeling beautifully smooth and conditioned.

How to use

Make sure the wood is clean and completely dry.

Using a clean, lint-free cloth, apply a small amount of Board Butter and work it into the wood following the direction of the grain.

Allow it time to absorb — for the best results, leave it for several hours or overnight.

Buff away any excess with a clean, dry cloth to reveal the natural beauty of the wood.

For particularly dry or neglected timber, simply repeat the process.

Storage & Care

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.

As Board Butter is made using natural beeswax, its consistency may vary slightly depending on temperature. This is completely normal and does not affect the product.

Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first, particularly when using on furniture, antiques, painted, stained or previously finished surfaces.
